The Birmingham Airport Expansion
The £500 million expansion will vastly improve Birmingham Airport’s terminals, flight capacity and passenger capacity, as well as improving the choice of flight destinations including new routes to India and China. It’s predicted this expansion will allow passenger numbers to increase from 13 million a year to 18 million a year, as well as creating 34,000 new jobs.
The airport currently contributes £1.5 billion every year to the Birmingham local economy, with this figure expected to rise to £2.1 billion a year upon completion in 2033.
